Yesterday I saw an article in the paper about the 17 year cicadas (or potatos) depending on who you ask... were arriving early due to global warming (they think). Last night Finn found a cicada that had scrambled out of the ground and he brought it inside where we put it in a jar and overnight it hatched. Then he was outside this morning and this is what we saw... I guess the picture on the right is a little small to see but there are 3 newly hatched cicadas on that one struggling iris and those are just the ones you see in the picture. I think there were two more on there as well and the oak tree was COVERED- the boys were amazed! I know this is making mom homesick :)!!!

Ok I have to comment because I said "picture on the right" that is how it looked until I clicked the publish button- now the picture is on top.
